production time and shipment
The production time is approximately 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. Once ready, the rings can be picked up in-store or shipped via insured delivery for a €20 fee.
ring size
I highly recommend having your ring size professionally measured. You can do this with goldsmith Lisa during an appointment at the store or with a jeweler near you. While resizing is often possible—easier without stones and more complex with them—it involves additional costs and puts stress on the material.
silver test rings
If you’d like to test the fit beforehand, you can try silver test rings in the same shape and with one or two different surface finishes. A pair of test rings costs €150, with €100 credited toward your final gold ring purchase.
gold
Lisa also works with Fairmined Gold and Fairmined Eco Gold. Custom designs and special requests are possible, but these cannot be configured online. The best way to discuss them is by booking an appointment at the store.
“I’m happy that most of my customers come to me because of fair gold. By now, many people seem to recognize that the source makes a difference.”
— Goldsmith Lisa
Why Lisa is a Fairtrade Partner:
• Fairtrade has been rated the most trustworthy fair trade certification by Stiftung Warentest.
• Over 90% of all gold miners work in small-scale mining, often as their only source of income.
• 1 million children worldwide work in small-scale mining. Fairtrade prohibits exploitative child labor and ensures compliance through strict monitoring.
• People and the environment are at risk when working without protective gear and handling toxic chemicals like mercury. Fairtrade limits the use of chemicals and mandates protective equipment.
• “Recycled” gold is undefined, lacks transparency, and does not improve conditions in small-scale mining. It also only meets about 25% of global demand.
What Fairtrade Gold Achieves:
• Traceability through strict standards, monitored externally by FLOCERT.
• Legalization and formalization of miners in democratic organizations.
• Premium payments for better living and working conditions, funding investments in social development, organizational growth, and environmental protection.
• A stable minimum price set at 95% of the London Bullion Market price for gold.

A Sustainable Approach to Gold
There are various ways to support sustainable gold. Fairtrade intentionally focuses on newly mined gold from small-scale mining organizations, ensuring full traceability back to the source. Since gold continues to be mined and processed, miners need an economic perspective. Fairtrade regulates gold mining through strict standards aimed at improving working conditions and reducing harmful environmental impacts.
